| A craftsperson, designer, painter, and teacher, Lotta Troy was director of the Art School at Newcomb College in New Orleans from 1928 to 1940. She was a specialist in book binding and design as well as a teacher in drawing and watercolor.
Troy was born in Guilford County, North Carolina and studied at Greensboro College form 1888-1902, with Arthur Dow, and at the Art Institute of Chicago.
