This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in a covered wagon near Phoenix, AZ while his parents were en route from Mexico on Aug. 11, 1888. Treviso passed his boyhood among the Indians. In 1902 he moved to Los Angeles where he studied art while working as a delivery boy at a drug store. While there during 1913-18, he designed posters for the Santa Fe Railway which brought him national attention. Leaving Los Angeles, he moved to San Francisco where he was art director for the Honig-Cooper Company. He died there of Hodgkin's Disease on Sept. 11, 1928.
