| Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Lucene Goodenow was a painter and sculptor
who specialized in carved ivory portraiture. Her teachers
included Louis Betts, Albin Polasek and Alphonse Mucha.
Based in Chicago, she exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Academy.
In the 1930s, she lived in Hollywood and was a member of the California Art Club.
