Luo Tong was born in China in 1969.  He enrolled in the Oil Painting Department of Academy of Fine Arts in Guanzhou in 1990, and graduated with his Master’s Degree in 1994. Tong went on to instruct in Guanzhou Academy of Fine Art.  He was also one of only twenty students selected from across China in 1999 to be allowed to pursue post-graduted studies in the area of painting at the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing. He was the recipient of several awards in China including the Luo (showing 500 of 947 characters).
