|  Painter Lynn Thorpe is known for her portrayal of the western landscape and natural environment.
She grew up in Newcastle, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming where she earned a MFA in painting. Thorpe has lived and studied art in Canada, Australia and Japan, though she now lives in a family cabin on Spearfish Canyon, South Dakota.
Lynn Thorpe taught for two decades at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming.
