Malcolm Thompson is known for his large, vibrant, and lushly painted flower scenes in acrylic and watercolor. He was born in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania in 1916. A graduate of the Pratt Institute, he continued his studies with the Art Students League and in the studio of illustrator Nicholas Riley. He was a watercolor and anatomy instructor for the McLain Art Institute from 1938-1940.
