Sculptor Minna R. Harkavy was a sculptor, primarily of modernist figures that expressed her feelings of sympathy for poverty-stricken persons. She was also an art teacher, using her penthouse studio at the New York Ansonia Hotel as her classroom as well as sculpting studio.
Harkavy was born in 1895 in Estonia, but educated in America and France. She studied at the Art Students League, and received a B.A. degree from Hunter College in New York City. She also worked in Paris with sculptor A (showing 500 of 1842 characters). |
