| Born in Bangor, ME on Aug. 14, 1856. Taylor settled in San Francisco in 1884 and began her art studies at the School of Design under Yelland and Kunath. Further study was had with Franz Schwartz in Chicago, Mme. Laforge in Paris, and in Boston, New York, and Munich. She was commissioned to paint a porcelain vase for the World's Fair in Chicago in 1893; the vase was exhibited the following year in San Francisco at the Midwinter Int'l Expo. After her art studies in 1895, she established a stud (showing 500 of 1109 characters). |
