Biography from ArtSanDiego:
Olga W. Thorsen was born in Norway on June 19, 1901.  At an early age she relocated to California, settling on the Monterey Peninsula.  She lived and painted in Pacific Grove from the 1930’s through the 1980’s.  While in that community, on the tip of the Monterey Peninsula, she lived at 347 Asilomar Blvd.  She was known for her oil on canvas landscapes and seascapes of the Monterey, Pacific Grove, and Carmel areas.

During her artistic career she was a member of the Pacific Grove Art Center (previously known as the Central Coast Art Association), and other local art organizations.  She was exhibited widely throughout the Monterey Peninsula.

A large collection of her works was left to the Smith Family, longtime Monterey Peninsula Innkeepers.  Many of her works are currently on display at the Smith’s Andril Fireplace Cottages located on Asilomar Blvd., in Pacific Grove.  Her works rarely come into the secondary market.

Olga Thorsen was living in Pacific Grove at the time of her death on October 1, 1992.
