| Born in San Francisco, CA on Feb. 19, 1887. Terry grew up in San Francisco and first studied art under Maria Van Vleck at Polytechnic High School. He then spent ten years as a cartoonist with the San Francisco Chronicle and Call where he shared desks with Bud Fisher and Rube Goldberg. In 1914 he moved to NYC where he was introduced to early film animation and began to devote himself to the art. In the ensuing 40 years he turned out more than 1,100 "Terry Toons" for motion pictures. In 1955 h (showing 500 of 810 characters). |
