Originally from the East Coast, Tapia has lived most of her life in California, where she moved from New York City in 1968.  Inspired by the scenery and colors of California, she does watercolors of local scenes and flowers, as well as some oil painting.  She and her artist husband live and maintain a gallery in Sausolito.
