| | Born in Virginia in 1840. By 1859 Tidball had moved to northern California. After a few years in Marysville, he settled in San Francisco where he was active as an artist and photographer until at least 1883. His portraits were noted for their artistic finish and pleasing, life-like expressions. His sitters included artist Thomas Hill and Prince Ajuma of Japan. Exh: Calif.
