| Born in San Francisco, CA on July 20, 1912. As an infant Tilden moved across the bay to Marin County where he remained. Following attendance at College of Marin, he worked for the Marin Humane Society and for Matson Navigation Company. Tilden began painting in 1936 as a pupil and sketching partner of George Demont Otis. In 1964 he began a long stint as the city park supervisor for the city of San Rafael. Upon retirement, he continued to paint at his home in San Rafael until his demise on Oc (showing 500 of 842 characters). |
