| Born in Oregon on Feb. 11, 1910. By the mid-1930s Thompson had settled in Los Angeles and was a pupil at the Chouinard School of Art. His art career was interrupted while serving in the Navy during WWII. An alcoholic, he died on a sidewalk in Los Angeles on Jan. 7, 1981.
