Suzanne Thienpont was born in Sint-Maria Horebeke in 1905.
She received her schooling as a painter, graphic designer and tapestry designer at the academy of Brussels (C. Montald) and Ter kameren (G. van de Woestyne). Thienpont then worked in the tapestry atelier of E. de Saedeleer and evolves from painting animated children figures (1934-1950) to wilder compositions that lead her to abstraction.
She finally returns to figuration with long forms (spirals, ellipses) an (showing 500 of 768 characters). |
