| Born in El Paso, Texas on December 27, 1914. Tenney moved to Phoenix in 1929. He studied there with David Swing, Ross Santee, Elmer Boone, and Robert Wood. In 1940 he moved to California and lived in Redding until enlisting in the Army at the outbreak of WWII. After the War, he returned to California and for the next decade divided his time between Redlands and Salt Lake City. In 1955 he settled in Redlands, CA and continued to work there.
