Born in Los Angeles CA in 1957 Soon after her parents moved there from Japan, Yuriko was born. She was raised in a very traditional household, where her mother studied Ikebana and English was a second language. Her parents chose neighborhoods without many Asians. She was Americanized quickly once she attended school. Throughout her education, art has always, unquestionably, been her strongest asset.
Takata studied fine arts and illustration, and had many gallery exhibitions in the (showing 500 of 1087 characters). |
