Emma Lucia Forbes Uren (1868-1936)
Emma Lucia Forbes was born in Plainwell, Michigan, and received some drawing and painting instruction from her grandfather and her mother, Mary Forbes. In the early 1880’s, Emma attended classes at the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1895 she married a mining engineer who was working in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. After a short time in Ripley and Calumet, Michigan, they settled in Houghton, Michigan in 1911. Among (showing 500 of 1023 characters). |
