Gladys Unger was born in San Francisco, California, in 1884. She was the daughter of Frank and Minnie (Buchanan) Unger. At the age of three she began drawing and painting; a few years later she found a passion for reading and writing and, while art would always be an interest, her writing would eventually place her in the public's eye. She was just a young child when the family moved to New York City where her father became a club owner. Her parents divorced soon after and she was taken (showing 500 of 2225 characters). |
