The following information is from Wayne Kielsmeier, M.A., Covington Fine Arts in Tucson, AZ
A painter of hunting, genre, animal and landscapes subjects, Karl Ucherman was born in 1855 and was raised in Askevold, Norway. He worked and/or studied at the Academie des Beaux Arts in Munich and had further studies in Paris for three years.
In 1881 he worked with Van Marcke.
Ucherman spent much of his time in Oslo.
