| Born on June 6, 1902 in Sacramento, CA, the daughter of silversmith George Uhl. Kathryn Uhl earned a master’s degree from Mills College (Oakland) and later taught drawing, illustration, and costume design there. During the 1930s she produced lithographs for the WPA. She wed artist Carlton Ball about 1944 and lived in Sacramento until her death on Oct. 16, 1984.
