| Formerly a nurse, and an illustrator of jigsaw puzzles, Laura Urquhart turned to portrait painting when she observed that a friend of hers made a living from that subject matter in an Amish community.
She took all of her art training in Ontario, Canada: the University of Guelph, the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, and Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology in Hamilton. She also studied with John Pike in Woodstock, New York. |
