| Leroy Dayton UpDyke was born March 3, 1876 in Elmira, N.Y. and died in Seattle at age 83 on September 2, 1959. He is listed in some art reference books, notably in Washington State Art and Artists, 1850-1950 (Trip & Dode, 1992), which contains biographical information and mentions his work with his Hoodsport WA based friend Melvin Bearden on murals for the New York World’s Fair* and for the Golden Gate International Exposition*, both of which took place in 1939-1940.   (showing 500 of 2588 characters). |
