 Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Adriana Varejao has participated in numerous international exhibitions, such as the Johannesburg Biennale,
Biennale di Venezia, Bienal Internacional de Sao Paulo, and other individual and group shows in the United States, Venezuela,
Denmark, France, Sweden, Japan, Portugal, and Mexico.
Her artwork represents the confrontation and trauma of civilization, colonization,
post-colonization, and de-colonization, and the corresponding imposition of power.
