Anton van Wouw (1862, Driebergen, Netherlands-1945)
He studied at the Rotterdam Academy and came to South Africa in 1890. Anton van Wouw had no formal exhibitions of drawings or paintings, but is renowned as one of South Africa's foremost representational sculptors.
Van Wouw received important commissions throughout his career, such as for the Kruger Monument, Pretoria, the Women's Monument, Bloemfontein, the General Louis Botha Monument, Durban, and panels for the Voortrekk (showing 500 of 1956 characters). |
