Born in Selma, Alabama on Dec. 3, 1890, Vaughan studied at Columbia University, the Art Students League of New York City under Henri, Bridgman and Miller, and in Paris at Académie Colarossi.
Returning to New York City, he was a cartoonist for Literary Digest. In 1939 he moved to California and lived in Laguna Beach. About 1946 he bought a home in nearby Costa Mesa and taught for about 15 years at Orange Coast College. He died at his daughter's home in Moraga, (showing 500 of 1040 characters). |
