| Born on a ranch near Chula Vista, CA on March 24, 1901, the son of Reginald W. Vaughan. The younger Vaughan studied with Carl Oscar Borg, Frank M. Fletcher, Wayman Adam, and Colin Campbell Cooper. He was a resident of Santa Barbara from 1911 until the 1950s. After serving in the Korean War, he settled in Palo Alto, CA where he remained until his death on Jan. 30, 1999.
