A painter and art teacher, Elizabeth Foster Vytlacil was married for over 50 years to the renowned American abstract Expressionist painter, Vaclav Vytlacil.
She was born in St. Paul Minnesota to Dr. Burnside Foster and Sophia Hammond Foster and attended Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Connecticut. She studied art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, in Paris, France with Lhote, and in Munich, Germany with Hans Hoffman and C. von Marr.
