| | Born in San Francisco, CA on April 8, 1911. After graduating from high school, Ethel Arnstein studied at the CSFA under Blanch and Piazzoni. She married J. H. Voorsanger in 1933 and, while maintaining a home in her native city, traveled extensively. She died in New Zealand on Nov. 23, 1969 while on a trip with her husband. Most of the records of her travels were done in watercolor; whereas, in her studio she worked in oil. Her subjects include portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and abstracts.
