Active in New York City and briefly in Illinois, James VanDerpool was a painter, architecture professor and art historian. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Harvard University. He also attended the American Academy in Rome and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris.
Academically James Grote VanDerpool was focused on the Renaissance and 18th-Century American Arts. From 1932 to 1939, he chaired the Arch (showing 500 of 1145 characters). |
