Janet Orem Van Buskirk was an obscure portrait and landscape painter from Cincinnati. Between 1903 and 1906, she was listed with a home address of 872 Rockdale Avenue in Cincinnati city directories, the same address found on a tag attached to the reverse of a small, full-length self-portrait, which is signed and dated 1903.
