| Born in Varna, Canada on July 14, 1873, a descendant of Admiral Nelson. Josephine moved to Michigan at age six months. She studied at the Universities of Michigan and Iowa before her marriage to Martin Valentine in 1904. Her art studies were at the Minnesota School of Art, AIC, and St Louis School of Art. She settled in Los Angeles in 1933 and became active in the local art scene. Painting trips were made to France, Portugal, Spain, Africa, Italy, and the Azores. Mrs. Valentine died in Hol (showing 500 of 825 characters). |
