|  Karin Van Leyden was born near Berlin, Germany on July 23, 1906. Karin (neé Elisabeth Frieda Johanna Erna Kluth) wed artist Ernst Van Leyden 1932. After several years in Holland, the couple moved to Los Angeles in 1942 and were active there into the 1950s. She died in Lugano, Switzerland in June 1977.
