A teacher of weaving at the Boston School of Occupational Therapy, Kate Van Cleve was a resident of Brookline, Massachusetts. She was a member and Director of the Boston Weavers Guild, member of Craftsmen's Advisory Commission, and served as Dean of Textile Guild of the Society of Arts and Crafts.
Her training included Michigan Normal College where she earned a Master's Degree in Education, and Pratt Institute of Art in New York.
