The following information was submitted in June of 2006 by the artist:
My landscapes are the reflection of what I see in my trips rendered with an unusual palette as I have been told many times. The use of bold and vibrant colors along with a simple brushstroke rendition has set my unique signature. I feel passion in the color I see displayed in nature which is rendered with such harmony on every scene, on every corner of a tree, a path a hill… I need to feel the landscape before daring to paint it, it needs to speak to me, yet I don’t paint on location as my life doesn’t allow it at the moment, but I have to live the experience of touching the grass, smell the scent of the wild flowers, the trees and the soil, and the feeling, the sensation of the warm breeze that just fills the entire scenario and how the light of that afternoon sun complements everything.
I’ve travel quite a lot during my life. Being raised in Venezuela, South America by Italian parents and living with those two cultures on a daily basis I think has being very crucial to my art career. I’ve been exposed since childhood to different cultures, and the beauties of each country I’ve visited definitely has created an impression in my work. I always say I belong to two countries, although born in Venezuela my other passion is Italy, the land of my parents and mine as the Italian culture is in my blood. The unbeatable beauties of the Italian countryside but especially the Tuscany region where my mother is from, have become my collectors' best choice. They all recall feeling the warm sun on the campagna that is reflected in my paintings that makes them transport to those wonderful vacations they had. I’ve moved from Venezuela to Atlanta in 1999. In June 2004 we moved to Spain from where I traveled throughout Europe. Some of the European countries that have inspired new series of my works are France and Spain, and I had the opportunity to revisit Italy and its beauties.
My abstracts, done in both oils and acrylics and are driven by the strong emotions we humans experiment on a daily basis and the use of non artistic tools as recycled man-made objects are used on all of them to help achieve the urban and outsider look that characterizes them. I express in them my frustrations, deep emotions of everyday events. They are my way to relieve and to canalize all those feelings that I get under stressful situations.
