| | Born in Wilmington, IL on Dec. 12, 1865. Vanderbogart arrived in California in the 1880s. After settling in Ventura, he established a home and jewelry business on the Plaza which he operated until 1925. In his leisure he hunted and painted in the area around his home. He died there on Feb. 8, 1956.
