| Sculptor Márton Váró was born March 15, 1943 in Székelyudvarhely, Transylvania, Hungary, which is now part of Romania. He studied art at Ion Andreescu Institute of Fine Arts in Cluj, Romania from 1960-1966. Váró’s first major group exhibition was held in Cluj, Romania in 1966. In 1984, the artist was awarded the Munkácsy Prize from Ministry of Education and Culture, Hungary; and Váró received the Fulbright Fellowship in 1988, which lasted through 1989 at the University of Calif (showing 500 of 4731 characters). |
