| Born in Germany in 1880, Vollmberg studied at the Royal Academy in Berlin during 1903-06. During 1912-20 he painted in Central America and Mexico. He exhibited at the Babcock Gallery in New York City in 1926 and, in that year, began a two-year tenure at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland.
