| Peter Vanden Berge was born in the Hague, Netherlands in 1935. Vanden Berge moved to Bakersfield, CA in 1950. He received his B.A. from California State University in Sacramento and his M.A. from UC Davis. He taught at California State University in both San Francisco and Sacramento from 1966 until retiring. Inspired by the works of Madigliani, his large ceramic busts of elongated faces bear a resemblance to the “heads” from Easter Island. He currently lives in Sacramento.
