Ron Vavra is an award-winning sculptor who creates works using distressed wood. The artist's desire for each work is to create a form that celebrates the unique and often spectacular figuring and markings of the wood that are the result of advanced decay.
One of the most difficult aspects of the creative process for him is finding material that is suitable to make museum quality pieces. Wood that he uses cannot be bought anywhere, i (showing 500 of 4759 characters). |
