| | Born in Yugoslavia on March 17, 1894. Vorkapich moved to Los Angeles in 1923 and worked as a cinematographer through 1940. In later years he lectured on film making at USC and UCLA. He continued to live in Los Angeles but died while visiting his son in Mijas, Spain on Oct. 20, 1976.
