This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Fultonham (Muskingum), Ohio, the daughter of Howard and Catherine Van Buren Stanbery.   Her studies in art were with John H. Twachtman and also in New York and Paris.  She married the artist Albert C. Fauley in 1888.  They were residents and strong supporters of the local art scene in Columbus, Ohio the remainder of their lives.

Her work, which for years she signed “Stanbery Van Buren” to avoid confusion with that of her husbands, was exhibited nationally at the Academy of Design in New York and also at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  Locally she exhibited at their Columbus studio, the Columbus School for Girls and the Columbus Art League.  A member of the Society of Western artists, the Columbus Women’s Art Club and the Society of Independent Artists, she died March 20, 1926.

Submitted by Edward Bentley, Researcher from Lansing, Michigan.
