Born in London, England on May 28, 1832, Agnes Shurly Wilson studied painting in London and New York. She married Charles Wilson in Rochester, New York in 1849, and the next year joined the Gold Rush to California.
After settling in San Francisco, she gave birth to Charles Theller Wilson who later became a well-known landscape painter. She was a resident of San Francisco until at least 1884, Oakland in 1898, and then moved nearby to Gilroy where she remained until her deat (showing 500 of 985 characters). |
