| Alice Wickman was born in 1903 in Seattle, Washington and died in 1994 in Roseville, California. She was raised in Oakland and Paso Robles, California and was a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley in the 1920's. She married Lester Wickman in 1934 in Oakland, California, and in the 1950s, was enrolled in the Famous Artists School in Westport, Connecticut.
Wickman was a student in the 1950s and 1960s of well-known San Francisco area landscape and still life painter, Johnathan Batchelor. She was a regular participant in Alameda County Fair and California State Fair from 1940-1060's with many awards. She regularly sold paintings in the City of Paris Department Store in San Francisco 1950 thru 1960's and at "The Art Place" at Awahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park in 1960's. She also taught painting classes organized by the Oakland Recreation Department and Oakland Schools Adult Education 1950's thru late 1960's.
