| | Born in Greenwich, CT on Dec. 2, 1889. Anita Jacobs studied at Rye (NY) Seminary where her father was an art teacher. She further studied in NYC at the Cooper Union, ASL, and School of Applied Design for Women. For five years in the 1920s she lived in Palo Alto and in 1939 returned to California and had homes in Berkeley and Carmel with her husband artist Samuel Wainwright. Her forte was floral studies. She died in Berkeley on July 5, 1968.
