Please note: Artists not classified as American in our database may have limited biographical data
compared to the extensive information about American artists.
Arthur Waagen was a well-respected animal
sculptor who worked in the mid-19th century. Very little is known about
his life. His most famous work is the large hunt group titled Kabayle
au Retour de la Chasse of a North African horseman with his dogs and
prey. He also created several smaller groups of Greyhounds, one playing
with a Persian cat and another playing with a King Charles Spaniel.
