From Columbus, Ohio, Barbara Wood is a painter of mod figures,
especially females, and genre scenes, and draws on her own life of
raising three children for much of the subject matter. She also
does lithography.
She was raised in Columbus by her mother, grandmother and great
grandmother and never knew her father. Her mother spent her
weekdays working, which meant that Barbara spent much time with her
