| A painter, critic, writer, illustrator and graphic artist, Ben Wolf was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and lived in both Wellfleet, Massachusetts and Philadelphia. He studied with Carl Nordstrom, Justin Pardi, and Hans Hofmann and was a member of the Philadelphia Sketch Club.
He was a teacher at the Wellfleet School of Art and during World War II was a combat artist for the Coast Guard. He became Assistant Professor of Art at the Provincetown, Massachusetts College of Art and has done much illustration including work for "Life" magazine, "Art Digest," and "National Observer." |
