| Born in Perth Amboy, NJ on July 11, 1912. Betsey Straub moved with her family to Berkeley, CA in 1921. By then she had begun painting. Following graduation from Mills College, she obtained her M.A. degree from UC and did graduate work at UCLA. She studied painting with Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Glenn Wessels, Peter Blos, and others. After her marriage to Irving Wiesenfeld in 1939, she was inactive as an artist for a few years. She then conducted a figure-painting workshop for over 20 years at Holy (showing 500 of 983 characters). |
