This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Bill Wiman was born in Roscoe, Texas in 1940. He studied at East Texas State University where he received his BS and at the University of Florida where he received his MFA.
Wiman's media is primarily oil on canvas. It is through this media that the life-sized, and sometimes larger than life, photo-realistic paintings are created. His works have been exhibited throughout the United States but most extensively in the South and Southwest at the Fort Worth Art Center, the Owens Art Center in Dallas, the Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christi, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the Jacksonville Art Museum in Florida. Wiman is also represented in the permanent collections of the Butler Institute of American Art, the Oklahoma Art Center, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the AT&T Corporation, and the Museum of Arts and Sciences.
Wiman's photo-realism technique allows the illusion of a full-scale color photograph due to the meticulous application of paint, the lighting in the painting and the detail.
